Performed at the Worcester Surgery Center under light general anesthesia or under local anesthesia with deep intravenous sedation, neck liposuction requires a small incision just below the chin and sometime under the earlobes so the surgeon can remove excess fat through a cannula. It is a relatively short procedure if it is not combined with another cosmetic surgery. Once the incision is closed, the patient can expect to see minimal swelling in the area and will be asked to wear a compression garment for a few days. Most patients are back to work in 4 or 5 days.
